Alentejo's history has a long tradition of olive oil. In São Lourenço do Barrocal there are around 6,600 olive trees, many of them several centuries old. Cared for using sustainable, non-intensive farming methods, they are the basis of the olive oil we produce independently on the property.

Join our agrotourism team on a tour to the olive groves of Barrocal, where you'll learn about the different varieties of olive trees and their fruit, the olive. The visit continues at the mill, where the olive oil production process will be explained, since the harvest of the olives to the bottling of the oil. At the end of the visit, there will be a technical olive oil tasting, where you will learn how to analyse the colour, fruitiness and flavour of the oil, so that in the future you will be prepared to distinguish the quality of the oil.

Há uma longa tradição alentejana ligada ao azeite. No São Lourenço do Barrocal existem cerca de 6600 oliveiras, muitas delas com vários séculos. Cuidadas com recurso a métodos de agricultura sustentáveis e não intensivos, são a base do azeite que fazemos de forma independente na propriedade. 

Siga na companhia da nossa equipa de turismo agrícola numa caminhada rumo ao olival antigo do Barrocal, onde irá conhecer as diferentes variedades de oliveiras e o seu fruto, a azeitona. A visita continua no lagar, onde o foco será o processo de produção do azeite, desde a apanha da azeitona até ao engarrafamento. No final, termine o percurso com uma prova técnica de azeites, onde aprenderá a analisar a cor, frutuosidade e paladar do azeite para que no futuro esteja preparado para distinguir a qualidade do azeite.
